
Ivy is a 7 year old black Labrador female. She was donated to Canine Partners for Life by Chilbrook Labradors. Ivy spent her first year in a residential puppy home , spending days in kindergarden with her puppy home mom. At the age of 1 she went to Canine Partners for Life where she began her advance training . At a little over the age of 2, Ivy was matched with Samantha and they completed of team training.
Ivy has always been eager to perform her skills , learn new tasks and help Samantha in any way that she can. Some of her tasks include retrieving, opening doors, repositioning her mom's arms and legs while in the wheelchair, carrying items and many more. Ivy is constant companion to her mom and the duo is never seperated. They make a great team!
Ivy's favorite down time activities include playing ball, belly rubs and eating...did we mention eating? She loves to retrieve and will attempt to retrieve almost anything when excited. People are often greeted at the door with large stuffed toys of all varieties and species in her mouth.

Samantha is a 25 year old graphic designer with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She was diagnosed as small child and was not predicted to live. Sam is a full time power wheelchair user with limited arm mobility. She is a graduate of Camden County College and freelance work in graphic design at home. In 2004 Sam was matched with Ivy and the fun began!
Sam enjoys scrapbooking, World of Warcraft and teaching Ivy new things. |
